“…Juliana Illés Major’s painting is versatile. She creates lyrical flower compositions painted with delicate, soft colors, stylized landscapes with unique wording, and abstract painting is also close to her. For the current exhibition, she selected from her non-figurative paintings. Julianna Illés Major’s creative, generous and striking brushwork, which uses a restrained color scale, only highlights the dynamics of the picture, the expressive power of the dominant, powerful colors. This is clearly visible in the pieces of the series entitled Életutak. With their powerful greenish shades and reddish winding, curving elements, they contain serious contradictions, philosophical content about the things of life, but also the peace and joy of life, since we always interpret the color red as a symbol of life… Julianna Illés Major’s concisely formulated works, reflecting on important questions of human life, and full of few colors, tilt us back from everyday life to reality…”
